A daily horoscope is not reading your Sun sign, which does not move for a month at a time. It is reading the Moon, the fastest body in the sky, which crosses the whole zodiac in about twenty-seven days and changes sign roughly every two and a half.

That gives every sign the same rhythm on a different schedule. Once in each of those cycles the Moon spends about two and a half days in Aries, and about fourteen days later it sits opposite in Libra. Those two stretches are the natural high and low points of an Aries month, and they land at a slightly different point on the calendar each time because twenty-seven days is not thirty.

Everything between the two is the Moon moving through the ten other signs, touching a different part of the chart each time. That is why two days in the same week can feel unrelated: the sky genuinely has changed, and the part of it that changes fastest is the part a daily reading is built on.

Aries is ruled by Mars, which completes its orbit in just under two years and spends roughly six to seven weeks in a sign. That is far slower than the Moon and far faster than anything outer, and it is the layer that decides whether a given stretch of weeks has momentum behind it or not.

The practical consequence is that an Aries day sits on top of an Aries season. When Mars is moving forward through a sign that suits it, the daily readings tend to describe pushing at something. When Mars is retrograde — about two months every two years — the same daily rhythm reads as rework rather than advance, and it is not the Moon that changed.

This is also why the daily and the yearly rarely contradict each other even when they look like they do. The daily reads a two-and-a-half-day window; the Mars cycle reads a six-week one; the yearly reads Jupiter and Saturn. Three zoom levels on one sky, not three competing forecasts.
