The sky today

Where every body stands at 2:00 PM UTC, to the arcminute. Computed, not copied: the same arithmetic an astrologer runs by hand, run again every hour.

Recomputed at 2:00 PM UTC, and again every hour.

How to read this page

Every line here says the same three things: which body, which sign, and how far into that sign it has traveled, counted in degrees and arcminutes. A sign is thirty degrees wide, so a body at 0 degrees has just arrived and one at 29 is about to leave. The Moon crosses a whole sign in roughly two and a half days, the Sun in about a month, and Pluto takes years, which is why the bottom of the table barely moves from one day to the next while the top of it moves while you read. Retrograde does not mean a body reverses in space. It means that from where we stand it appears to drift backwards against the stars for a while, because we are overtaking it, or it is overtaking us. The figures are recomputed every hour, so the Moon is the only one you will see change if you come back this afternoon.

Where these numbers come from

The sky today

Each position is read from the high-precision ephemeris files, the same tables observatories use, and converted to the tropical zodiac. Nothing here is written by a language model; the sentences are, the numbers never are.

How we compute this →

This is the sky. Your chart is the sky at your birth.

Same arithmetic, one moment and one place: the one you were born in.
