The weekly horoscope on Sigastra is not written ahead of time and not carried over from last week. For each sign, the actual planetary positions of that week are computed first — from observatory-grade ephemerides, the same data professional astronomy runs on — and the text is written from them. That order is the whole difference between a forecast and a template.

Why a week is a real unit in astrology
A week is not an astronomical period. Months come from the Moon, years from the Sun, days from the Earth turning — but seven days is a human convention with no orbit behind it. What makes it usable anyway is that it happens to be close to a quarter of the lunar cycle, which is about seven and three-eighths days.
That near-match is the whole basis of a weekly reading. The Moon moves from one phase to the next in roughly a week: new to first quarter, first quarter to full, full to last quarter, last quarter back to new. Each of those quarters has a different character in the tradition, and a week almost always sits inside one of them.
It also means a week covers about three sign changes of the Moon, since the Moon spends two and a half days in each. A weekly reading is therefore a description of three moods in sequence rather than one, which is why the honest ones tend to say the week has a shape rather than a single tone.
What moves in seven days, and what does not
The Moon moves about ninety degrees in a week, which is a quarter of the zodiac. Mercury and Venus cover roughly five to eight degrees when moving at normal speed. Mars covers about three or four. Those four are the planets a weekly forecast can genuinely read.
Jupiter moves about half a degree in a week and Saturn about a fifth. The outer three barely register — Pluto covers a few hundredths of a degree. Any weekly reading that leans on Pluto is borrowing weight from something that has not meaningfully moved since the previous week, and would read identically if it did.
The useful consequence is that a weekly horoscope is best at the middle scale: not the mood of an afternoon, which is the daily layer, and not the theme of a year, which is Jupiter and Saturn. It is good at describing the pace of a working week and where the friction is likely to sit inside it.
The four quarters of the lunar cycle
From the new moon to the first quarter, the tradition reads as starting — the phase where something is set in motion without yet having evidence it will work. From first quarter to full is building, and it usually carries the first real resistance, because that is where a plan meets the conditions it has to survive.
From the full moon to the last quarter is the visible half: the point where whatever was begun is far enough along to be judged, and where the results of a decision made two weeks earlier tend to arrive. From last quarter back to new is the closing phase, read as release and clearing rather than as launch.
Because the cycle is about twenty-nine and a half days and a month is thirty or thirty-one, the phases drift against the calendar. That drift is why the same calendar week can feel quite different from one month to the next, and why phase-based advice keyed to the day of the month rather than to the phase itself is not describing anything.
Where a weekly horoscope stops
A weekly reading by sign speaks to the Sun in a sign, which is one twelfth of everyone. It is good at naming the kind of week and poor at naming your week, because it knows nothing about your Moon, your Rising sign, or which of your houses the week falls in.
It also cannot date an event. The fast planets it reads produce a texture — a stretch that suits revision, a stretch that suits pushing — rather than an outcome on a particular day. A weekly forecast that promises a specific event on a specific weekday is promising something the arithmetic underneath it cannot produce.
What it does do well is give you a frame for the seven days in front of you, and a reason to look at them as a unit rather than as a queue. For anything narrower than that, the daily reading is the right zoom level; for anything wider, the monthly and the yearly are.
